Natural World Safaris (NWS) had a problem: their website was slowing them down. Powered by Umbraco 7, the platform couldn’t keep up with the fast-moving digital world. Safari explorers want speed, ease, and an unforgettable experience when planning their adventures. NWS needed a website to match.
What was broken?
The site’s navigation was clunky, content was buried, and search filters weren’t user-friendly. Behind the scenes, it was difficult to manage and maintain. On top of that, their SEO performance was poor, hindering their ability to attract and retain new customers. NWS came to us with a mission: migrate their website to a faster, smarter platform, improve their SEO, and make it seamless for users and their team alike.

In total, we successfully migrated close to 70,000 content items—without any drop in search rankings.
We broke the project into three stages, each carefully designed to tackle the problems NWS faced while future-proofing their site for growth.
Our first task was to move from Umbraco to SocialStack—a more flexible, user-friendly platform. This wasn’t just a copy-paste job. We completely restructured the site’s architecture, analysing how each element fit together to ensure seamless continuity between the old and new systems. Content needed to flow smoothly, and so did the user experience.
Additionally, we integrated Peak 15 into the site, ensuring that whenever users filled out forms, their data flowed directly into NWS’s CRM system. This streamlined both customer management and communication.
But this wasn’t just about migration; we also set out to transform the design. Working in two fast-paced design sprints, we:
Reimagined the homepage with new search and navigation mechanics.
Created wireframes to improve the safari search process—making it easier for users to discover their dream destinations.
Ran customer journey workshops to map out the full user experience, from first click to booking.
We didn’t stop at making it look good. We were laser-focused on functionality, optimisation, and SEO improvement, ensuring everything ran like clockwork behind the scenes while attracting more organic traffic.
Once the site was live, we kicked things up a notch. We built personalised areas for returning customers to manage their previous safaris, shortlist new ones, and even book their next adventure. Our goal? Boost engagement and make users feel like they had their own customised space.
If budget allowed, we could take NWS’s digital experience to the next level. Phase 3 would focus on future-proofing with cutting-edge tech, such as virtual reality tours, voice search integration, and advanced personalisation features. These innovations would not only enhance user engagement but also ensure NWS stays ahead of industry trends, continually impressing and wowing their customers.
